The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1-4 - The Holy Spirit falls on Jews in Jerusalem
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Acts 8:14 - The Holy Spirit falls on the Samaritans
"Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them, 15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. 16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit."

Acts 10:44-47  - The Holy Spirit falls on the Gentiles
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered, 47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” 48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.

Acts 19:1-6 - The Holy Spirit falls on the unaware believers
And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples 2 he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” So they saidto him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.” 3 And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?” So they said, “Into John’s baptism.” 4 Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit of God is an essential part of God's plan on salvation. Throughout the new testament, we see not only Jesus Himself, but the early church and the apostles making much of the role and activity of the Holy Spirit. Being filled with the Holy Spirit was not an option or an issue of theological debate, it was a necessity! There has been an all out war to dilute the message of Jesus Christ and we must "contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints"... In this message discover what it means to "baptized in the Holy Spirit. This may be what you are missing. As you'll learn from the scriptures, the Holy Spirit is not an accessory for your Christian life, but the very power to be Christian. My prayer is that God fill you and lead you all your days. Please listen and share with friends.
